Lamborghini Gallardo

The Lamborghini Gallardo is a sports car built by Lamborghini. The Gallardo is Lamborghini's most-produced model to date, with over 10,000 built in its first seven years of production. The car is named after a famous breed of fighting bull. The Spanish word gallardo translates into "gallant".

The Gallardo offers two types of transmissions, a traditional six-speed manual transmission (H-box) and an advanced six-speed electro-hydraulically controlled semi-automatic robotized manual transmission (E-gear). The E-gear allows drivers to make shifts faster than the traditional H-box.

Since 2005 there are eleven different models of the Gallardo. Some are mass productions and a handful of the models are limited. The fastest gallardos ever made is the LP 560-4 and the LP 570-4 Superleggera with a top speed of 325 km/h.

A blue and a yellow gallardo was donated by Automobili Lamborghini SpA and an independent organization respectively. They are currently being used by the Italian police department.
